Willow (Daughter, Age 9): Wait! Can we listen to that again?
Quyen (Dad): Sure. You really like this, don’t you? Do you think you’d like to play something like it?
Willow: Can I?!
Quyen: Let’s talk to your piano teacher and see if she thinks you might be ready.

It took a few months for her instructor to find a piece appropriate to her level. While it was ‘I Giorni’ that inspired Willow, she spend several months working on ‘Melodia Africana III’. She’s since taken similar music themes to compose her own songs; one composition, she called “Emotions,” placed 2nd in a state composition festival. Willow is now 10 and Einaudi continues to inspire her.
